About the journal

“Philo-Fictions: The Journal of Non-Philosophies” is meant to receive so-called “non-philosophical” or “non-standard” texts and to form from them a kind of inspiring body.

The minimum requirement is to admit that the real precedes philosophy, and to transform philosophical statements in light of that hypothesis. Philosophy loses all authority over the real, and fiction is accepted as the story whose beginning and end you neither foresee nor await.

Statement

The affirmation of philosophy always oscillates between its death and survival, its excess and scarcity, its plurality and singularity, its mediatization and absolutization, as though it did not know how to exist except within the enclosure of these harassing dualities. The rare new propositions that appear are still doctrinal repetitions and defenses of positions. Philo-Fictions takes the risk of another ambition, declaring it without ignoring the difficulty of its realization: to place philosophy under the triple condition of invention, discovery, and even the wager. Here again, for our aspired disruptions and utopias, we need the necessary principles of order, rules, a new conception of creation, and the displacement of parameters.

Under the heading of non-philosophy, anti-philosophy, without-philosophy, and even pop-philosophy, some of their negative conditions have been set, some of their most onerous codes identified, and some attempts have been made. To whosoever wants this, what remains is to propose new decisions. It is not necessarily a concern for new, hegemonic-motivated great philosophers, but instead texts that could globally be called “non-standard.” By definition, we do not know what we expect of ourselves.
