Submissions and instructions for authors

1. Languages

The journal accepts articles written in French or English. Texts must be carefully proofread before submission.

2. Length

• Articles: 5,000–12,000 words
• Essays or interventions: up to 5,000 words
• Reviews: 1,000–2,500 words

3. General presentation

• Microsoft Word (.docx) or LibreOffice (.odt) file
• Times New Roman 12 pt
• 1.5 line spacing
• 2.5 cm margins
• continuous pagination
• no complex layout

Use bold sparingly. Prefer italics for book titles or exceptional emphasis.

4. First page

Each manuscript must include:

• title
• author’s name
• institutional affiliation
• email address
• abstract (100–150 words)
• 5 keywords

5. Quotations

Short quotations are integrated into the text with French quotation marks: « … ».

Quotations longer than three lines are set as a detached paragraph, without quotation marks.

Any alteration to a quotation is indicated with square brackets: [...].

Omissions are indicated by: […].

6. Notes

Use footnotes exclusively.

Note markers are placed after punctuation.

Notes are reserved for bibliographic references or brief remarks. Avoid overly developed notes.

7. Bibliographic references

The journal follows a system close to the Chicago Manual of Style (notes and bibliography), adapted to French editorial practice.

8. Final bibliography

The bibliography is arranged alphabetically by author.

9. French typography

Follow French typographic conventions.

• quotation marks: « … »
• non-breaking space before: : ; ? !
• book titles in italics
• article titles in quotation marks

Foreign words are italicised when they have not been naturalised in French.

10. Illustrations

Figures must be supplied separately (minimum 300 dpi).

The author is responsible for obtaining reproduction permissions.

11. Quotations in other languages

Quotations may be reproduced in their original language.

A French translation is recommended when the text is not in French or English.

12. Editorial ethics

Submitted manuscripts must be original.

Any use of artificial intelligence tools that has contributed substantially to writing, translation or the production of illustrations must be disclosed at submission.

Authors alone remain responsible for the scholarly content and bibliographic references.

13. Before submission

Please check that your manuscript includes:

• the title
• an abstract
• five keywords
• a complete bibliography
• notes conforming to this guide
• any required permissions for images
