Clandestinité, une ouverture

Philo-fictions inaugurate a new genre. It is not a literary genre, although science fiction no doubt inspires us, for we only apply the same method. Anticipatory fiction speculates on possible progress and on the changes that certain technical advances would introduce into reality. Yet these stories, which readily deliver a philosophical moral, are in fact founded on a unitary — and therefore metaphysical — conception of science.

Philo-fiction cannot follow the same path: philosophy remains foreign to the progress that animates the sciences, and its influence on humankind is not technical. Starting from precise questions or themes — clandestinity for this first issue — we seek the philosophical systems they might inspire. We are convinced that not everything has already been said or written, and that it is possible, within, at the margins of, or outside philosophy, to think otherwise.
