Translation, a last fidelity

Call for contributions

For its third issue, the journal Philo-fictions seeks contributions theorising the multiple configurations between translation, philosophy and non-philosophy. Contributions may address in particular:

1. The various modes of appropriation of translation by philosophy (especially in its deconstructionist and post-analytic uses);
2. Non-philosophy as a generic translation of philosophy;
3. Problems of translation raised by the non-philosophical “text” and the general conditions of the translatability of non-philosophy;
4. The reception of non-philosophy outside France and the forms taken by both resistance to non-philosophy and its welcome;
5. Forms of non-philosophical modelling of translating and the unprecedented practices these forms generate in domains as diverse as epistemology, logic, aesthetics and ethics;
6. Examples (optionally with commentary) of translations of non-philosophical texts, or translation(-fictions) of other texts carried out according to the principles of non-philosophy;
7. Critical analysis of already existing translations of non-philosophy;
8. The elaboration of tools facilitating the translation of non-philosophy, such as dictionaries or bi-/multilingual lexicons;
9. The conditions for organising the translation of non-philosophy: for example, should non-philosophical terminology be standardised?
